Lynda Roberts

Lynda Kay Roberts passed away peacefully in the early hours of Monday, March 16, 2026. She was born March 27, 1944, in Dallas, Texas to Olen Lamar Graham and Daisy Dell (Goodman) Graham and was joyfully reunited in Heaven with her parents along with her brother, Gordon Graham and her cherished son, Dale Roberts, Jr. A devoted and longtime member of the First Christian Church in Terrell, Lynda took great pride in her church activities and the events of surrounding communities. As a deaconess and member of the Christian Women's Fellowship, she served faithfully and was involved in the “Bag Lady” ministry who prepared bags of food and other items for those in need, as she can be seen doing in the movie Golden Voice 2. Lynda helped in fulfilling countless other ministry needs, her generosity and compassion knew no bounds with a reputation for helping anyone at any time with a servant's heart and goodwill. Lynda was also a frequently seen at several civic and community clubs including the Terrell Garden Club for which she served as past president. Her knowledge in both native and collectable plants and flowers enabled her group to win several awards for their hard work and design ideas over the years. She also had an appreciation for antique and classic automobiles and she was a proud member of the Horseless Carriage Club of America, where her mutual admiration of old cars and how they were historical hallmarks to society was matched by other members all over the nation. When not involved with groups, clubs and committees, Lynda could be found at home baking all kinds of special, sweet treats for neighbors, friends, and family, each of whom looked forward to a wonderful and unique baked creation to (hopefully) share but was mostly devoured quickly! Coffee cakes at Christmas were definitely looked forward to by all and her talent at making every bite taste great was well known. One of the joys of holidays was looking forward to the infamous “Granny’s Chocolate Pie” or “Apricot Nectar Cake”. Her spirit of hospitality was not just limited to sharing food but also to inviting others over for wonderful get togethers filled with games, good times, and great memories. She was a proud "Granny" and spoiling her grandbabies became one of Lynda's favorite pastimes along with "going all out" and decorating for every holiday and numerous shopping trips, especially for hard to find and beautiful antiques. Her life was lived by the time honored and traditional values that built every successful family and home: honesty, unconditional love, respect and helping others and Lynda made sure to not only be the example of these same values but she passed them on to her own family. Being a loving wife, devoted mother, Granny, and steadfast friend helped others see life the way Lynda did with joy, appreciation and, above all, love for each other. She leaves this wonderful legacy to be proudly carried on by her husband of 63 years, Dale Roberts Sr.; her son, Darren Roberts and wife, Nora; grandchildren: Niki Bivins, Samuel Roberts, Daniel Roberts, Richard Roberts, Randy Roberts and her bonus grandchild Julee McCarty; her five great grandchildren; as well as many other extended family, church family, and countless friends all of whom will dearly miss Lynda. A Memorial Service for Lynda will be held at 12:30 p.m., Saturday. March 21, 2026 at the First Christian Church in Terrell, Texas.
